The Royal Thai Embassy in cooperation with the Thai Students’ Association in Cairo under Royal Patronage organized the Second “Cleaning Day” project under the theme “Thai Students United for Al-Azhar” at the School of Islamic Law, Al Azhar University on 9th April 2015. The project brought about 150 Thai student volunteers to clean and repaint the internal and external areas of the School of Law with an aim to enhance the spirit of community service, show a symbolic gesture of gratitude towards their institution, as well as to celebrate the 60th birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn whose tireless work has helped to promote the education and well-being of the Thai youths, of all believes, at home and abroad.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Thailand H.E. Mr. Peerasak Chantavarin, H.E. Abdelrahman Moussa, Advisor to His Eminence Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr. Farahat Abdel Ati Sa’ad , Dean of the Faculty of Shariaa and Law and Dr. Hamed Abou Taleb, the former Dean.
